  •   1. When are the pawnbrokers’ auctions?
    Section 20 of the Pawnbrokers Act provides that all unredeemed pledges above S$50 must be auctioned off at public auctions. Any surplus raised from the auction must be returned to the pawners. This measure protects the pawners against excessive loss in the event that the pawn value is below the market value of the pledges. Schedule of auctions The viewing time of the unredeemed pledges starts from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and auctions will begin at 12.45 pm. Venues: Dates for 2012:

  •   2. How can I realise surplus from auctions?
    Pawners who are entitled to the surplus realised from the auctions will be informed by the pawnbrokers to collect the surplus from the respective pawnshop within four months of the date of auction.
